ABOUT ME

Michael Hunter McVay is an author, retired art instructor, and miniaturist in Palm Springs, California. His memoir trilogy, "Little Boy Black & Blue," recounts his survival of extreme childhood abuse and was written so other survivors know they are not alone. Also a singer, performer, and illustrator, he now spends his retirement writing, restoring dolls, and building miniature worlds alongside his partner, Christopher. Their beloved dogs — Luke, Boo Boo, and Toby — may be gone, but they remain family, and they are missed every day.

"I could never accept a compliment. I felt hideous and worthless throughout my life, after being called disgusting things on a daily basis. I tried to hide my insecurities, even from myself. I was told I could not and would not be loved - ever! But I have been! So nanny, nanny, poo-poo!"
