Non-Fiction/ Child-abuse/ Memoir, with additional helpful links.

This is the updated and FULL VERSION, updated full color book that delves into a life of utter chaos! Mentally and physically abused, young Michael struggles to find normalcy in a world filled with torture and seemingly unending turmoil. From the early age of five, Michael began to develop unique coping mechanisms in order to survive the ongoing agony of his daily life. What was his special power? Was it always there, or did it manifest due to necessity? What was it that woke him up seconds before the phone or doorbell would ring? What gave him warnings of potential harm?  Why such a strange life? Can you relate? Would you want to?

In his alone time, free from the restraints of his abuser, he created his own little "perfect" family of dolls and secret places. He created a family of puppets made from peanuts, then another from sewn cloth. He wasn't allowed to have toys as a youngster, but he created a maze of hiding places and grew a collection of dolls and he built miniature mansions. The struggle remained real, however, with threats and violence that left life-long scars.  Who knew?

Michael refused to be bound by his past, but he found that it has a way of catching up when least expected. His, is a story of pain, loss and torment, but it also serves as an example of hope, perseverance and resilience. Through his journey, he was able to overcome the temptations of suicide, drugs, sexual abuse and torture to become a successful artist, a teacher and a miniaturist, all while searching for someone that he never knew he had lost. Tragedy and torment became normal, but how does one move on? 18+

The Repulsive Tales of Wayward Fern

When Drinking and Thinking Don't Mix

ISBN-13 979-8710324011

Fiction
A Southern Dramadey (comedy-drama)

Sweet, handsome, and young innocent bystander, Curtis Reynolds, was walking his dog, Daryl, when the two of them stumbled upon a raging, hormonal, beast of nature, FERN, who was busily cleaning out her cooter in a lake just outside of a small Mississippi town. Does love blossom between them? Hardly!

Curtis is a hard-working, openly gay, single man who is always trying to do the right thing. Fern, his newly found "friend from the lake" is a drunken, self-absorbed, self-admitted sex-addict who is always in search of a good time, a cold beverage and a cigarette. But is she all bad? Yeah, probably. But is it her fault? Maybe! She manages to squeeze her way into as many bizarre situations as possible, wreaking havoc upon the residents of sleepy Meridian, Mississippi. How did she suddenly appear in the lake? Where did she come from and what the hell does she want from poor Curtis?

Fern can be a real twat, as you will see, but is she lovable? She cannot be all bad, right? What is she like when she's sober? Who lives and who dies? Will Underdog swoop in and save the day? Or perhaps Mighty Mouse? Scooby Doo? Curtis? You'll have to read this almost entirely true, HOMO-EROTIC story to find out! Admittedly, it is MOSTLY true, but a couple of names were barely changed to protect the guilty. Lives are forever changed in this woeful, comedic tale. 18+

ISBN-13 979-8512790205
Non-Fiction, Book three of three (trilogy)

Delve into an ADHD mind that developed and adapted very differently from early childhood. Michael uses humor and a tinge of sarcasm to discuss severe c-PTSD in a way that is easily understandable and relatable. This third book includes all the technical jargon needed to understand the clinical background of the illness, but he also describes the effects in a concise and personal way in his own words. Through it all, he was able to thrive and lead a fulfilling life and you can do the same no matter the issues you may be facing.

This last part of the trilogy is filled with tragedy and triumph, nightmares and wonder. Michael writes with passion and inspiration from the heart. It is an honest exploration into a world unseen by most. Whether or not you have personally experienced abuse, ADHD, or c-PTSD, this book is for anyone who appreciates the struggles of our human existence. Get in-depth looks at the abuser, the abused, and the circle of life surrounding them all. Disorders associated with PTSD are included and discussed. This book may be challenging at the darkest times, cringe-worthy at the deepest times, and downright funny some of the time, but it is not an easy one to put down once you've started.    18+
